TELUGU360.COM (Rating: 2/5):

Yash is extremely stylish and his screen presence is terrific, but style alone can’t save the film. Glossy visuals, useless elevations and endless violence – but hardly anything makes you care about what’s happening. Geetu Mohandas had a massive opportunity with Yash, a huge canvas and a strong technical team, but completely wastes it. Her obsession with style and presentation comes at the cost of basic storytelling, character development and emotional connection. The film desperately needed a coherent screenplay rather than one elevation after another. At times the fiilm appears to be retarded. All style. Very little substance.

TELUGUCINEMA.COM (Rating: 2/5):

Toxic” is ambitious in scale, but the film turns into a huge disappointment because of its unappealing narration, weak characterization and a story without depth. Yash gives his best as an actor and star, and the film looks grand, but the writing and screenplay completely undermine those strengths. The result is a long, chaotic and tiring watch that never delivers the high expected from a film of this scale.

GULTE.COM (Rating: 2/5):

Toxic has everything that is needed for a big film but the writing fails to meet the ambition. Yash gives the film everything he can, but style, violence and elevation moments cannot compensate for a screenplay that never finds a proper flow. Geetu Mohandas had an interesting opportunity with a massive star and canvas, but the film ends up being more about presentation than storytelling. A visually rich but largely disappointing gangster drama that needed a much stronger script to live up to its massive expectations.

123TELUGU.COM (Rating: 2.5/5):

On the whole, Toxic is not even the fairy tale for grown-ups it promises to be. Yash does his part and remains the film’s biggest strength, but the simple story is stretched far beyond what it can sustain. The emotional impact is diluted by excessive violence, intimate scenes and prolonged sequences, while the preachy dialogues become tiresome. Several characters and their arcs are underdeveloped, weakening the intended impact, and the father-son conflict never gains the emotional depth needed to make their relationship compelling. Toxic looks stylish and expensive, but beneath all the spectacle lies a screenplay too thin to justify its 194-minute runtime. Yash fans and a section of action-film lovers may find it appealing, but the rest can look for better alternatives.

TIMES OF INDIA (Rating: 2.5/5):

The production values are solid, with the makers going all out in terms of scale. The huge sets, lavish locations, action blocks, and overall visual design look rich and impressive. Unfortunately, the technical grandeur and lavish presentation cannot fully overcome the shortcomings in the writing and execution. Overall, Toxic is a stylish but disappointing gangster drama.
