TELUGU360.COM (Rating: 4/5):

Ramayana is a breathtaking cinematic experience that takes Indian mythological filmmaking to an entirely new level. Yash’s Ravana is a show-stealer, Ranbir Kapoor brings emotional depth to Rama, and the background score by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer elevates the experience. The slow pacing is the only significant complaint. Otherwise, the film offers a grand theatrical experience, with several elements of its filmmaking likely to appeal even to Gen Z audiences. Take your kids, proudly introduce them to our mythology and traditions, and experience this epic on the biggest screen possible. Highly recommended for the entire family, preferably in IMAX 3D. This is India’s answer to world-class cinematic spectacle. This is THE CINEMA!

GREAT ANDHRA (Rating: 3/5):

Overall, “Ramayana Part 1” is visually spectacular and offers several stunning episodes that have rarely been presented on this scale in previous cinematic versions of the epic. It has enough moments to provide an immersive theatrical experience. Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra have together delivered the massive visual scale that a revered epic like Ramayana demands. Ranbir Kapoor’s dignified portrayal of Rama and Yash’s terrific performance as Ravana add considerable value to the film.

GULTE.COM (Rating: 3/5):

Overall, the Ramayana part one lived up to all the pre-release hype and expectations. Barring a couple of dragged-out sequences and a leisurely pace at times, the film largely engages the audience. The soul of the Ramayana was beautifully blended with amazing visuals and the film gives a pleasant feeling throughout its runtime. The film certainly deserves to be watched in the theatre with family to witness our epic story in all its glory. Especially, it is definitely worth showing the film to the kids, preferably on an IMAX screen. And yes, Part One ends at the crucial juncture of the Ramayana and it certainly makes us wait for Part Two which is scheduled to release in theatres next year.

123TELUGU.COM (Rating: 3.75/5):

On the whole, Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana is a faithful and compelling adaptation of the mythological epic. It is amazing in scale and visuals while also being rich in soul. The VFX work in crucial sequences sets a new benchmark for Indian cinema. Nitesh Tiwari ensures that the spectacle doesn’t overshadow the drama and emotions, making it a wholesome experience. Ranbir Kapoor is exceptional as Rama, Sai Pallavi is impressive as Sita, and Yash sets the screen on fire as Ravan. The pacing is slow in certain sequences, and there are minor sound-mixing issues. The presence of the full version of Jai Jai Ram could have further enriched the experience. Despite these shortcomings, the movie delivers a memorable theatrical experience and is worth watching on the biggest screen possible. The 3D version is recommended over the 2D version for a more immersive experience.

TIMES OF INDIA (Rating: 4.5/5):

For those of us who grew up watching Marvel, DC and Hollywood’s grand cinematic spectacles, there is something especially gratifying about finally witnessing an Indian epic brought to life on a comparable scale, without losing its cultural identity. This is not about imitating Hollywood; it is about Indian storytelling confidently embracing a global cinematic canvas. Ultimately, the true test of a film lies in how it makes you feel when you walk out of the theatre. And you walk out of Ramayana with a wide smile, a sense of exhilaration and immense pride in seeing India create something this extraordinary, a spectacle that is unapologetically its own, where audacious ambition is matched by execution.Ramayana is an immersive, larger-than-life cinematic experience and a landmark moment for Indian cinema — one that deserves to be experienced in IMAX 3D. Bring on Part Two, we say! And don’t forget to stay back for the post-credits scene..
