KANNEGANTI BRAHMANANDAM is born on 1 February 1956, at Sattenapalli, Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. Prior to acting in films, he was a Telugu lecturer in Attili, a town in West Godavari District. Brahmanandam is regarded as one of the finest comic actors of India, noted particularly for his comic expressions and fast dialogue delivery. He currently holds the Guinness world record for the most screen credits for a living actor. He has acted in more than 1000 movies till date and has been one of the highly paid comic actors of Indian Cinema. He debuted through a Guest role in Chiranjeevi’s movie Pasivadi Pranam (1987). But he got a breakthrough with the role of ARAGUNDU in AHA NAA PELLANTA (1987). He never looked back and started his invasion on the screen.

In AHA NAA PELLANTA (1987) movie, directed by Jandhyala and produced by D.Rama Naidu, he played the role of Govindu nicknamed as ARAGUNDU, a loyal bonded servant to a known miser Lakshmipathy (Kota Srinivasa Rao) with an added quality of stammering and a Peculiar attire with his half shaved hairstyle, made him look funnier. Whenever he gets hurt, he curses his boss in his thoughts with different new phrases. He joins with 3000 rupees salary, having faced deductions in salary, his salary remains rupees 12 and 25 paise. Lakshmipathi gives him a task of securing a tenant for his vacant room. If he does not succeed he has to face a further deduction in salary. In the process of finding a new tenant, aragundu will come to know about the love affair of his boss daughter. To keep his mouth shut he will fixup Krishnamurthy (Rajendra Prasad) to occupy the vacant room. Lakshmipathi (Kota) influenced by Krishnamurthy (Rajendra Prasad), will become further greedy, frustrated with his boss aragunda will leave the job and join hands with Krishnamurthy to transform Lakshmipathy. Lakshmipathy realizes his mistake and redeems himself by getting his daughter married to Krishnamurthy. Jandhyala designed this character with a lot of wit and humor, Aragundu became a comedy” Phirangi Gundu” (Cannonball) on the screen for four decades. The way in which he enacted the role of Govindu (Aragundu) is everlasting and tremendous.

We can not count the number of characters he performed and we can not talk about one particular character he excelled, whatever the character may be he justified it to the core and made it remarkable. He is beyond  the scales and parameters.
