VEERAMACHANENI JAGAPATHI RAO CHOWDARY popularly known as JAGAPATHI BABU born on 12th February 1962, Machilipatnam, Krishna district.An Indian film actor known for his works predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam cinema.
Movie ANTAHPURAM directed by Krishna Vamsi released on 30th Nov 1998. Jagapathi Babu played a savior role as Sarai Veerraju an illicit liquor peddler. Who helps Bhanu(Soundarya) a helpless woman, lost her husband in a faction rivalry killing. Bhanu runs away from her in-laws’ place in order to save her son from a hostile & unlawful environment. Bhanu struggles to reach Hyderabad, with a series of encounters form her in-laws, that is when Sarai Veerraju enters as a savior from heaven. Having dreams to fly to DUBAI, he commits to saving her for the need of money, later he turns into a rugged mean guy who lets go of himself to save Bhanu. He will get injured in a situation of saving her from the rivals. Finally, he will board her and kid into a train-borne to Hyderabad and dies with Dollars in one hand and his favorite cigarette in another hand, with a very big smile of satisfaction on his face. The way in which he performed the role is magnanimous, he got the applaud and Nandi Award for best-supporting actor. Krishna Vamsi has thrown the burden of conclusion on the shoulders of Sarai Veerraju and he fulfilled it.
