Director Krrish and Balayya were succeeded to create the pre-release buzz for the movie, but due to the weak story and lagging scenes, the audience has rejected the movie. NTR-KATHANAYAKUDU theatrical rights were sold for 70 crores but the movie has recovered only 20.5 crores in its full run.
