FACT 01:

Nag Ashwin Reddy was born on 23 April 1986 in a Telugu family to Jayaram Reddy and Jayanthi Reddy, who are both doctors. He has a younger sister, Nikhila Reddy, who is also a doctor. Ashwin’s mother hails from Visakhapatnam and runs JJ Hospital, along with his father, in Hyderabad.

FACT 02:

Ashwin studied in The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, Hyderabad. He was classmates and friends with Rana Daggubati since class one.

FACT 03:

He made his directorial debut with Yevade Subramanyam (2015), which received positive reviews. It was a sleeper hit and gained a cult following post-release. In 2018, Ashwin directed Mahanati, a biopic of actress Savitri. It emerged as the highest-grossing female-led South Indian film and won him the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and the Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu. 

FACT 04:

In December 2015, Nag Ashwin married Priyanka Dutt, the second daughter of tollywood’s noted producer C. Aswani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies.The couple has a son, Rishi.

FACT 05:

Nag Ashwin started his career as an assistant director with the 2008 film Nenu Meeku Telusa…?. He eventually became assistant director to Sekhar Kammula for his films Leader (2010) and the Telugu romantic coming of age film Life Is Beautiful (2012).
