The Paradise is a 2026 Indian Telugu-language period action drama film directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Ishan Saksena, under Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas and IVY Entertainment, respectively.

Overall, The Paradise starts on a promising note and has a solid first half. But it is the second half that lacks depth in narration and ends on a disappointing note. Nani does well, and the supporting cast is also good, but one feels the film could have been a lot better.

The Paradise is a film that reads like a first draft. Nani’s physical commitment and sincere performance, the first half’s action set pieces, Anirudh’s songs and the production design prevent it from being a disaster. But the repetitive screenplay, the underused supporting cast, the flat second half, the anticlimactic climax and the poorly written heroine track leave the film well short of what Dasara promised Odela’s second film would be. The expectations were massive. They were also justified, given what Odela achieved with his debut. But The Paradise does not meet them. With mindless violence and blood, the movie just doesn’t give anything to hold onto.

The pre-interval sequence, two songs and the pre-climax sequence to an extent, worked in the favour of the film. But apart from that, there’s nothing much to talk about in the film, including Anirudh’s background score. The first half of the film was at least watchable with a few well-made sequences here and there but the second half tests patience with lengthy action sequences one after the other. Overall, The Paradise is most likely to end up as a ‘missed opportunity’. And yes, yet another director in Tollywood failed to break the ‘failure of the second film’ syndrome.

On the whole, The Paradise is a routine mass action drama with the fight blocks coming out well. Nani’s sincere performance, the pre-interval to interval stretch, and the chartbuster songs work, but the rest isn’t anywhere near what the team promised. The template storyline has been told in an underwhelming manner. Expectations were massive for Srikanth Odela, but he didn’t meet them with this one. Hence, the film ends up being a below average watch.

The Paradise begins as a raw, violent and potentially unique mass film, but loses its way badly after the interval. Srikanth Odela has scale, ambition, visuals and a committed lead actor, but the film lacks the emotional core required to make all that craft connect. Director builds his own Paradise..and destroys it himself.
