All in all, “NTR Kathanayakudu” is a plain biopic that has many problems but can be watched as it tries to tell the story of one of the greatest actor and politician of Andhra Pradesh.

So, we have a film where the first half is passable and the second half is slightly better. The general feeling is that of a sincerely made movie that is a decent one-time watch. There is nothing bad per se but if one were expecting a classic and memorable outing, it is not the case.

NTR Kathanayakudu is a fitting tribute to the biggest actor to have graced Telugu screens. Balakrishna lives in the role of NTR and gives Nandamuri fans a reason to rejoice. Terrific performances, honest portrayal of NTR and a good build-up for the second part are huge assets. If you ignore the slightly slower pace, the film ends as a good watch for the fans but the general audience will find the biopic a decent watch.

An uneven narrative, slow pace, thin storyline and the refusal to humanise the great actor hold back the film from what it could’ve been. But not all is lost, for the stupendous performances make it worth a watch, so does the promise of delivering more in NTR Mahanayakudu.
