TELUGU SWAG RATING:
Top Reviewers:
TELUGU 360 (Rating: 2/5):
Harish Shankar wanted to remake a serious film in an entertaining manner and he failed badly with the output. The first half of Mr Bachchan is passable but the second half of Mr Bachchan is a complete misfire. This ‘Raid’ remake is a huge disappointment.
Indian Express (Rating: 1.5/5):
Adding local flavours to a remake isn’t the biggest problem in this Ravi Teja-starrer remake of Ajay Devgn’s Raid, it is tampering with the source material to such an extent that buying the remake rights feels like a waste of time.
Mirchi9 (Rating: 2/5):
Overall, “Mr. Bachchan” lacks the depth and originality that characterized Shankar’s earlier successes. It relies heavily on tried and tested tropes, failing to create a compelling narrative or elevate the source material.
123TELUGU (Rating: 2.5/5):
On the whole, Mr. Bachchan has its moments but caters primarily to mass audiences. Ravi Teja and Jagapathi Babu deliver decent performances, and Bhagyashri Bose adds a touch of glamour, but the second half falls short due to unnecessary comedy and pacing issues. If you’re a fan of Raid, the original movie that inspired Mr. Bachchan, it’s best to temper your expectations.
Times Of India (Rating: 2/5):
The original Hindi film, Raid is a Crime Action drama but here in Telugu, Harish Shankar made a lot of changes in an attempt to over-commercialize the script but he failed to a large extent. Screenplay, dialogues and comedy sequences were poorly written and executed barring two to three sequences. Harish Shankar is known for showcasing the female lead in his films in a very sensual way and in Mr Bachchan as well, he showcased Bhagyashri Borse so well, especially in songs. Overall, he delivered an outdated and subpar output.
