Jailer is a commercial entertainer. After a high first half, the second one slows down a bit. Nelson’s comedy worked well in the first and a bit farcical in the 2nd. Rajinikanth is a strength and saving grace. He is back in his elements throughout the film. Superstars Mohanlal and Sivaraj Kumar’s cameo is a bonus. Anirudh’s BGM is another strength. Go and Watch it.

Overall, Jailer has an engaging first half with a perfect interval block. It turns rocky in the second half and fails to take things to the next level post-intermission. Still, it is a decent outing and makes for a one-time watch for Rajini’s star presence and the initial hour and a half.

But Jailer suffers from a wafer-thin plot, and the second half fell like a pack of cards. Hence Jailer ends up being just an okay watch, and it is suggested to keep your expectations in check.
