NANDAMURI HARIKRISHNA, born on 2, September 1956 at Nimmakuru, of Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. He is the son of NTR and an Indian Film Actor and politician. He is best known for his works in Telugu Cinema as a child artist in 1960s. Harikrishna made his acting debut as a child artist in Sri Krishnavataram as a little Krishna in 1964. Then he appeared in 4 to 5 movies till 1977. After a long gap, he returned to his acting career with a guest role in the Mohan Babu starrer SRI RAMULAYYA in 1998.
NANDAMURI HARIKRISHNA portrayed a powerful role as” SATYAM ANNA” in a movie Sri Ramulayya, as a Naxalite leader who is facing a court case. The judge will pronounce the death sentence, and he will be sent to jail, Ramulayya(Mohan Babu) who was present there at court will get inspired by Satyam. Ramulayya also will be sent to jail because of the allegation made by the landlords of his village. Satyam rejects to sign a mercy petition brought by his lawyer brother, Satyam’s wife appreciates him and take an oath of continuing his ideology. The sacrifices made by the couple further inspire Ramulayya. Comrade Satyam also identifies the fire in Ramulayya and he confirms him as his Successor. Comrade Satyam plea the jailer as his last wish to meet Ramulayya, he meets Ramulayya and explain the strategy, how to motivate Rayalaseema People against factionism, and to divert them to fight for the people’s prosperity. Meanwhile, he sings a song” NEEKISTA TAMMUDA”, which is very inspiring and emotional. The way in which Harikrishna enacted the role of SATYAM ANNA was amazing and gives goosebumps. This character created a new image and he continued to get good roles in different movies. The screen time of this character may be for a few minutes but he acts as a real drive to the movie.
1996-99 Member of Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh and worked as Cabinet Minister for Road Transport.
In 2008 he was elected as Rajya Sabha member and he delivered his speech in Telugu During the Separation bill of Andhra and Telangana, and he opposed the bill irrespective of party stand.
