TELUGU SWAG RATING:
Top Reviewers:
TELUGU 360 (Rating: 2.5/5):
SPY film has big ideas with mediocre execution. The scenes written around Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose are a bit consolation in this template film. The scripts written around International SPY theme demand huge budget , which apparently one cannot match. Overall, SPY film could have been better.
Great Andhra (Rating: 2/5):
Overall, “Spy” is more like Akhil’s “Agent” – dull and tedious. The patriotic element of Netaji Bose is ineffective, and the film fails to provide any thrilling moments, inducing a sleep mode instead.
Mirchi9 (Rating: 2/5):
Overall, Spy ticks all spy genre-related cliches and serves them in a screenplay with nonstop action. Only here, the ‘action’ neither thrills nor awes. It is as bland as it comes. If you like the genre, there is hardly anything new.
123TELUGU (Rating: 2.75/5):
On the whole, Spy is a generic spy action thriller that doesn’t have anything new to offer. Nikhil’s sincere performance and a few decent moments here and there are its saving grace. The bland narration without any high or thrilling moments is the main drawback. It could have been much better had the makers concentrated more on Subhash Chandra Bose. Spy will end up being an okay watch, provided you keep your expectations in check.
Times Of India (Rating: 2.5/5):
SPY comes at a time when you’ve kind of seen various permutations and combinations of the same story told in different ways with varying motivations in numerous languages. Garry’s film has its heart in the right place, but it lacks the spunk to stand out.
