Synopsis:
N.T.R: Mahanayakudu is a 2019 Telugu biographical film, based on the life and political career of N. T. Rama Rao, produced by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati, Vishnu Induri under NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, Vibri Media banners and directed by Krish. After N.T.R: Kathanayakudu it is the second movie in the two part series and music composed by M. M. Keeravani.
CAST: The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in his father’s role. Vidya Balan plays the female leads.

NTR Mahanayakudu is a decent political drama. Except highlighting Chandrababu Naidu as rescuer of TDP at that time , most of the scenes are true from history. And for people who have followed NTR’s mentoric rise in politics – NTR is an emotion. Probably a political journey that will never be emulated.

Overall, there are segments in NTR – Mahanayakudu which work, but those are few in a two-hour length film. The husband and wife drama brought in for emotional appeal is very routine and so is the political development. In the end, NTR – Mahanayakudu is a propaganda film that fails in doing what it wants to do, as the narrative gives a clear indication that makers are undecided on what to do. There is a constant feeling of something missing that makes viewers disconnected eventually

On the whole, NTR Mahanayakudu showcases NTR, the legendary politician, to the current generation. Balakrishna’s splendid performance as NT Rama Rao and Krish’s deft handling of the political events that rattled Andhra Pradesh in the late 80s are the major highlights of this political drama.
