Overall, barring the few interesting parts during the rise in the political cadre of the hero, the rest is a strict no. NGK, in the end, is more than a disappointment considering the time and combination.
Great Andhra (Rating: 1/5)
Despite Suriya's honest performance, ``NGK`` is a bore and gives headache.
On the whole, NGK is a simple political drama gone wrong. Lack of basic conflict, gripping drama, and entertainment are huge drawbacks for this film. Suriya needs to erase this film from his memory right away and choose a fun film to make a comeback as NGK does not provide the entertainment or thrill that you look forward to in a political thriller.
Times Of India (Rating: 2/5)
If we end up enduring the two-and-a-half hours, it is mainly because of Suriya who gives it his all, acting the hell out during the actorly portions and playing to the gallery whenever he is required to turn on his charm.
Versatile director SelvaRaghavan fails in his first mass outing. NGK is a boring , heavy disappointing film.
The Hans India(Rating: 2/5)
Director Selvaraghavan has prepared a solid story for this film but it is too predictable and routine. The director even failed with the narration. The audiences will feel lost with the film at some point as the plot gets deviated in between. The film is targeted at mass audiences but it really lacks the solid punch that one expects from Selva Raghavan.
