Top Reviewers:
TELUGU 360 (Rating: 2/5):
“Double iSmart” comes nowhere to the original. The plot has potential, and Ram makes honest efforts, but the narration spoils the show. Certain mass moments and the pre-climax work well in an otherwise typical mass action film.
Great Andhra (Rating: 2/5):
“Double iSmart” tries to bank on the success of “iSmart Shankar” but fails to deliver a compelling narrative. While Ram Pothineni’s energetic performance and the novel plot element of memory transfer provide some moments of interest, the film is ultimately let down by routine execution, weak writing, and a lack of fresh ideas. Fans of the prequel might find some enjoyment, but for the average viewer, “Double iSmart” is a forgettable experience that doesn’t live up to expectations.
Mirchi9 (Rating: 2/5):
Overall, Double iSmart relies heavily on Ram’s energy and suffers due to poor drama and weak writing. Puri fails to utilize the novel plot and delivers a lengthy, over-the-top, tiring experience.
123TELUGU (Rating: 2.75/5):
On the whole, Double iSmart struggles to live up to the hype of its predecessor, iSmart Shankar. Despite Ram Pothineni’s commendable efforts, his talent feels underutilised. The plot has potential, but the execution falls short, especially in the dragging second half. Kavya Thapar’s presence is minimal, and Ali’s comedy track fails to deliver laughs. Sanjay Dutt’s portrayal as the villain comes across as just another routine bad guy. If you’re in search of solid entertainment, this might not be your best pick.
Times Of India (Rating: 2.5/5):
Overall, Double Ismart is a decent film but does not live up to the hype created. It also is nowhere near the first part. But that does not mean it has stuff that will impress the masses. Ram is solid in his role, and the presence of Sanjay Dutt adds to the narrative. Watch it without any expectations.
