Top Reviewers:

Indian Express (Rating: 3/5):

In short, while Leo is undoubtedly a feather in Vijay’s cap, it is indeed a step back for writer-director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

India Today (Rating: 3.5/5):

That said, ‘Leo’ is a near-perfect commercial entertainer, which will make us savour the theatrical moments. Also, Lokesh has packed in several surprises throughout the film. While some were revealed during the filming, others managed to get the audience excited.

Mirchi9 (Rating: 2.25/5):

Overall, ‘Leo’ manages to keep you hooked during the first half with its good action, background music, and visuals. However, it completely derails in the second half and never manages to regain its momentum. ‘Leo’ feels like a forced addition to the hyped LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe).

123TELUGU (Rating: 2.75/5):

On the whole, Leo is an action entertainer that relies majorly on the performance of Thalapathy Vijay. The first half is engaging despite the slow pacing, but the film runs into trouble once the second half starts. The flashback portions and poorly designed characters are the major drawbacks. Leo is a part of the LCU, and there are a few moments for the franchise fans to cherish. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s magic is somewhat missing in Leo, and the box office prospects of the film depend on the stardom of Vijay and the LCU factor.

Times Of India (Rating: 3/5):

Though the whole ‘LCU’ part looks forced, one can say that with Leo, Lokesh has a strongest shot in his arm for the next franchise. Lokesh and Vijay’s Leo is a lot ‘bloody’ than ‘sweet’. Leo’s roar may not be at its peak here, but, hey! it is still a Lion!
