KUBUSAM, a film shot in the backdrop of Telangana Struggle. As John F.Kennedy said, "when a peaceful revolution is made impossible, a violent reaction is inevitable" KUBUSAM captures this notion in a sensitive fashion with a lot of contemporary relevance. It touches upon the vital aspects of the Naxalites movement and presents both the state’s version and juxtaposes it effectively with that of Naxalites. It also exposes the double standards and convenient posturing of the political parties on this important issue of state, calling it a socio-economic issue when in opposition and treating it merely as a law and order problem when in power. All in all, It’s a thought-provoking and facts presenting the movie.
[qodef_dropcaps type=”square” color=”” background_color=””]T[/qodef_dropcaps]he movie starts with police station blast by members of Naxalite Dalam, and they kill local M.L.A. at his residence along with his security police officers. Department took it as an issue of the prestige of the department. The OSD will comment in a meeting that police are doing duty for the sake of livelihood but they are living to fulfill their aspirations. He dedicates himself to eradicate the movement.Dr. L. Srinath seems to have done quite an amount of research on people’s War group and how the police tackle it. He gave a realistic picture of the existing state of affairs in the Naxalite affected areas. At the same time, he gave a humanitarian approach in doing Characterization. This film is a commendable effort by the director through the film would not be commercially satisfying one at the box office.
Shivaram (Sri Hari) leader of the Dalam will come to the village and he orates about the State violence and disparities created by the political setup in his emotional breathtaking speech and he conducts Praja Court to punish the sarpanch who act against the wish of the public. Real star Srihari enacted as an operations leader with all his emotion and expressions, While going back he sings a song which explains the invasion of foreign culture and how it killed, our traditional living with different self-employment and dependence on each other, which create a bond among the people to live together. How the togetherness was evaporated because of the feudalistic commercial thinking spat by Multinationals. Among other reason why it attracted the spotlight is the song that goes “Palle Kanneru Pedutundo “ with lyrics penned by Goreti Venkanna and music composed by ‘Vandemataram’ Srinivas along with his voice. The performance of Srihari will be notable and hair straightening among the audience. Kudos to Gorati, Vandemataram and Real star Srihari who enacted as Shivaram leader of the Dalam. His role may be small but effective and important in the movie.
