JAYASUDHA was born as SUJATHA in a Telugu speaking Family settled at Madras (Chennai) Her aunt is Telugu female actor producer, and director Vijaya Nirmala. Jayasudha debuted as actress when she was twelve years old as Jamuna’s daughter in Pandanti Kapuram movie. She changed her name to Jayasudha, since there was another senior actor named Sujatha in the industry. She debuted as heroine with the movie Lakshmana Rekha 1975, but her major breakthrough as heroine was with the movie Jyothi 1976, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, With in no time she got the stardom and all top Telugu film directors started offering her good roles.
