Top Reviewers:
Indian Express (Rating: 1.5/5):
Kalyan Ram is sincere in a film lacking originality or depth. Samyuktha is just there as the character. Malavika Nair impresses in the brief screen time. Devil is strictly for fans of Kalyan Ram!!
Great Andhra (Rating: 2/5):
Devil is a decent investigative thriller with a patriotic and commercial touch. The narrative falls flat until the halfway point after an exciting start. Kalyan Ram and Samyukta did well. The film’s second half has unexpected twists and turns that work well for it. Overall, it is a watchable fare.
Mirchi9 (Rating: 2.25/5):
Overall, Devil has an interesting setting and a few impactful action sequences. However, the absence of a robust villain or conflict, along with the underwhelming drama around female characters and stereotypical portrayal of British officers, relegates it to a one-time watch with the right expectations.
123TELUGU (Rating: 3/5):
On the whole, Devil is a watchable period action drama with an interesting storyline and impressive twists. Kalyan Ram is stunning in his role, and once again, the actor has chosen a different script. Samyukta Menon, Vassishta Simha, and Malvika Nair did justice to their respective roles. After a good start, the graph dips in the first half due to flat narration and bad songs. Had the first half been gripping, the movie could have gone to the next level. If you are okay with these flaws, you can give this film a try.
Times Of India (Rating: 2.75/5):
Devil is impressive. Watch it with low expectations. This is a period drama with rich production values and good twists. Kalyan Ram’s performance is a highlight.
