TELUGU360 (Rating: 2.25/5):
WAR2 is loaded with high-budget action sequences – some land well, others miss the mark. The narrative thread tying these set pieces together feels absent, making the film stumble overall. At best, it hovers below average. For NTR, his Hindi film debut turns out to be a mixed bag. performance-wise, he shines as always, while Hrithik brings his usual cool charm to the spy role. Kiara looks cool, with her song standing out, whereas the heroes’ dance number Janaab-e-Ali is just passable.
BOLLYWOOD HUNGAMA (Rating: 2/5):
On the whole, WAR 2 emerges as the weakest film of the YRF Spy Universe. At the box office, it may ride the advantage of the long weekend initially, but sustaining momentum beyond that will be an uphill task.
MIRCHI9 (Rating: 2.5/5):
Overall, War 2 will be remembered as a wasted opportunity. A refreshing combination of a top North star and a South star like NTR should have delivered something special, yet NTR is grossly underutilised. Add to that the utterly routine core plot, action design, and execution, and the result is a film that leaves the audience with a deep sense of dissatisfaction from what was supposed to be an ambitious project.
123TELUGU (Rating: 3/5):
On the whole, War 2 is a better outing than the recent films in the YRF Spy Universe, but Ayan Mukerji’s narration is a mixed bag. Hrithik Roshan and NTR carry the movie on their shoulders with strong performances, and the action sequences in the first half are fairly engaging. Despite a story that holds promise, Ayan Mukerji’s narration restricts this spy thriller from reaching its full potential. The second half lacks the desired impact with unexciting moments. If you are fine with these issues you can give it a try.
