Writer-director SS Raju makes a faithful remake. But the nativity factor goes for a toss, and the screenplay is not clear-cut. The film should have been abstract and let the audience do a lot of deciphering.

Ishq is an essential subject and is contemporary in its essence. But the director failed to bring in the same organic intensity into the film in contrast to the original and it failed the film big time for the Telugu audience. You may give it a try but not an urgent watch. Teja Sajja proved once again he has a good eye for a different subject. So, it’ll be interesting to see how he learns from this movie which is a remake.

But it doesn’t cater to all sections of the audience, given its peculiar plot. The film might make for a passable one-time watch if you keep your expectations in check.
