TELUGU360 (Rating: 2.25/5):
Coolie turns out to be a letdown. With expectations sky-high, Lokesh Kanagaraj delivers a disappointment. The first half is passable, while the second half feels like a test of patience. Aside from using a couple of old movie songs during fight sequences, Lokesh shows little creativity. There are few elements for Rajini fans but those are not suffice . Nagarjuna as simon Good and swag was good in ” I am the danger” song
GREAT ANHRA (Rating: 2.25/5):
Technically, ‘Coolie’ is brilliant. Be it Girish Gangadharan’s cinematography or Anirudh Ravichander’s pulsating music, the technicians delivered on all fronts, including sound design, production design, and VFX. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Coolie’ is an underwhelming entertainer that suffers from overstuffed ideas. Rajinikanth’s screen presence and Anirudh Ravichander’s music save the film from drowning.
INDIA TODAY (Rating: 2.75/5):
The climax is packed not just with action, but the famous cameo appearance by Aamir Khan. The plot twists don’t end there. Wait till you watch the tail-end scene to be taken back in time. Overall, Lokesh Kanagaraj has managed to bring a banger to the theatres that need to be enjoyed on the big screen with a hall filled with Rajini fans.
123TELUGU (Rating: 3/5):
On the whole, Coolie is a watchable action drama, driven by Rajinikanth’s magnetic screen presence, Soubin Shahir’s strong characterisation, and Sathyaraj’s dignified performance. Nagarjuna does a fair job as the antagonist. The film offers enough fan-pleasing elements – stylish fights, key confrontations, and a handful of engaging moments. However, the storyline is nothing remarkable, the execution feels flat, and there are no major twists or surprises to lift the narrative. Watch it for Rajini, and you might find it decent, but mainly if you’re a true fan.
